Just wanted to share. This is the car I grew up with, my Dad's '57 210. Every single thing on this car was done by my dad...chassis, motor, paint, interior, you name it. It was almost ready to go a few years ago, but it had a bad whine in the driveline (turned out to be the transmission), and also had no interior. It sat for another two years, while dad built a '65 Chevy truck (twice!) to serve daily driving duties. He finally had the time to go through it again, clean out the cobwebs, and get a makeshift interior done. Went home for the holiday and had to take some pictures.

455 Pontiac, Saginaw 4-speed (while the Muncie gets rebuilt - source of that whine!), Ford 9", front disk/rear drum, some minor body modifications and the hand made grill bar.

Here's what it looked like a long time ago...

I like the instrument panel. I've been planning in my head different ways to do something similar. Mine is gone, I'm not a big fan of the stock styling anyway, and reproduction guage clusters are overpriced at $650-$750 dollars.

I have never been much of a fan of the 57's That is until now... That is freaking kewl. Like it was stated above i'm sick of the red/white, yellow/white. and teal/ white. The black on black is too damn kewl. Congrats on the ride being back on the road. Need to tell pops to let ya air that thing out in the lewisville area. This area would sure be kewl'r with it cruise'n the streets.

Technically it's "very dark green" on black. When the light hits it juuuuust right, you see the green. The car (and my folks) resides in Rowlett, not Lewisville. But now that it's back on the road, you may see it around some more.

I'm sure he'll see all the replies, he lurks a bit.

  17. Good look to it. You should black out that back bumper too.

  18. That a nice ride. Stance is just right.

    Like his custom instrument cluster.

Please ask him to install the stock front seat.

    Stock stuff is long gone.

Here's a crappy shot of the dash from a few years ago.

That's the first tri-five I've seen with a Pontiac in it since 1968. It's refreshing to see. Your Dad did a nice job on that car. Thanks for the pics. Paul

Ooooh. I got goosebumps. That would make goldchainer's grab their daughters and put them away for safe keeping.

Dude, that's friggin' badass! That's one car that DEFINITELY needs a vintage 1957 Texas black license plate for it! The good thing in TX about running a year of manufacture plate, is you don't need to run a front plate, which would definitely clean up the front bumper a bit! Also, you don't need an annual inspection, just $50 registration every year. Plus, it would black the car out a little more! I'd also put the wheel weights inside the rim since he's not running trim rings. Minor annoyances, but I figured I'd mention them!:) Oh, and I'll shoot you some pics of my truck here in the next few days, sorry I haven't had a chance yet!
