Looking for a Good side view photo of this Mercury or any 49-51 Mercury that is chopped AND hardtop style. THANKS --TwoChops
It was built by HAMB member "Kustomkid", it started out as a 4 door and his first merc chop as a senior in highschool. Its got to be his old build with the vintage montana plate. His whole family is into rods and customs. Here are some pics that I have Here is his latest merc
Unfortunately, I cannot tell you who's cars these are, but they are some of my favorite hard top Mercs. I probably got most or all of these photos from the Hamb.
What I'm looking for is something the factory could have built if they had hardtops before 1952.Then someone chopped it a mild3 inches,---------------TwoChops
Agreed. There's a kind of square-ness about it, kinda like how a chopped '39-40 Merc looks compared to a '39-40 Ford. It works really well too, much better than any other converted moredoor I've ever seen. There is a beautiful orange-metallic '51, that was built in the '80s by a man for his high school son. It was built as a semi-clone of the Hirohata Merc, but it didn't have curved side glass and obviously the color was different. It was the most perfectly hardtopped Merc I've seen, but I can't remember who built it. Maybe my description will jog someone else's brain since I can't get mine started.
^ That bar none has got to be one of the better mercs ever done. The way they cut the beltline out of the bottom of the roof really opens it up for a heavy chop that isnt noticeable.
