So I bought this 1952 chevy styleline deluxe 4 door sedan it has a power glide transmission so it is equipped with a 235 but still the low pressure version... so my question is there is a copper line inside the push rod compartment that goes from the area behind the distributor and back into the block what does this line do??? On my engine it goes from behind the distributor then through a hole drilled in the push rod cover around to the other side of the engine and into a tee that goes into the block and to the oil pressure gauge so what does anyone think about this????
I have never seen that before. My would say it has a block oil passage to the rockers. When this is the case it usually runs from the oil galley on the left side of the block to the hole below the rocker cover between 3 and 4 spark plug. This is my 261 Chevrolet 6
Thanks for the input I'm going to investigate this further I want to eliminate it coming out the side of the cover I want to install a finned one!
There should be pipe plugs blocking (replacing) the line oil line under the side cover. I think some plumbing needs to be done under the rocker cover when it is done as above.
Yes this is the case I am going to plumb it out the side of the block like the gray engine i just have to relocate my coil the bracket is using the hole thanks for your knowledge!!!
