I'm trying to date the photo. I believe it's between 1931-1941, Fremont Street, Las Vegas. Any help figuring out the latest model car would be much appreciated.

First one in line on the left-hand side in the picture looks to be a 1938 Chevrolet Town Sedan (2-door)

  3. The coupe in the lower right appears to be a 1939 Chevrolet or Buick coupe.

    The plates are '40 or '42 - probably '40
The coupe nearest camera is a '38 Olds, '32 Fordor in front.
    '33-'34 Fordor in the street.
    On the left is a '38 Chev, a '35 Chev Master, '35 or '36 Dodge, a '36 Chev & a Hudson.

    I spy a couple 39 chevys.

    I'd say it's probably a prewar picture.

This is all very helpful, thanks.

Why do you say this about the plates? Did the design change in those years?

I have this picture in higher res. At highest you can almost make out the plate in the lower right.

I see this detail with the plate colors now. Light on Dark was also '38. This narrows it down enough for me, thanks for the help.
