Buried treasure in Hollywood

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bumpstick, Nov 23, 2010.

  1. i think i would be making the effort to drag it up, you will probably regret not doing it in a few years when old tin really dries up.
    Al.

  2. Looks like the car had been rear ended at one time and a new tailpan somewhat crudely welded in place. Instead of properly repairing the tool tray area, someone just welded in a piece of diamond plate.

Sorry guys, but the safe is more interesting and could be traced to an old heist on the LAPD books. BTW, nobody ever heard of Helocopter lifts?

I used to Live right in the area, ( 1973 ) I would walkpast a very vintage Steel Pre- fab gas station on Hollywood Blvd near Wilcox. You could see the imprint of what were Visable pumps in the concrete and what was left of an Air tower. I would always be in awe of the artifacts I could find climbing about Laurel canyon near the Canyon Liquor store. Truly , a treasure troveof interesting finds if the surroundings could talk........... scrubba

those brackets sticking up were probably camera mounts.
    diamond plate to stand on.

  11. Wow. Good call there 2-TONED. Never thought about that. So we're thinking that the primo deck lid was probably removed long ago and left propped up against a fence in the back lot of a studio.

Think there's any chance that those brackets could be for bracing the charges to flip a stunt car?

  17. That's what I'm thinking.
