I've got a cut down stainless '31 Model A shell. I love '32 shells but so many people have them and I stumbled across this one for way to cheap a price to pass up.
I have to agree with the 32s being over done, don't get me wrong as they do look good but just over done and I love them with A shells, as you can see here. JW

For the past couple weeks, I've been working pretty hard on getting all the body work done. I had to get my deck lid hinges fit, the steering column mounted and get the body primed. For the deck lid hinges, I went with the Triumph Spider hinges. I think they look pretty awesome and it was just what the car needed on the rear. Being a fiberglass body, it was kind of tailored to the street rod trend. It was completely shaved and had no hinges, handles or anything on the body. The external hinges not only look pretty cool, but it gave me a whole lot more room in my already small trunk. The hidden hinges took up so much space. Here's the hinges mounted. For the steering column, I took some plate and cut a hole for the column to go through. I bolted this through the floor. I then took some tubing, cut a 3" piece then cut it in half longways and fit it and welded it to the plate. It's welded to the plate and fits up against the column. I'm going to use a clamp to go around the column to help hold it plate. I don't have any pictures of it or I'd upload it. I basically did the same thing for the top mount on the backside of the dash. I'll use some nice button head bolts when I go to mount it after it's finished. Trying to get the column to fit in place and still leave me a little bit of room for my knee ended up being quite the challenge. I was able to finally get all the body work finished yesterday and got my body sprayed in primer last night. I'm going to start blocking it tonight.
The body's a stock dimension body. The frame is a little bit longer. It's about 125" long. I can't remember the wheelbase off the top of my head
What model Triumph are the hinges from? They are just what I need for my project. Your car's looking real tuff, I like it.

Your hard work is paying off. I sold my 27 T about 8 years ago. Seeing your's is making wish I didn't.
I finally got my bodywork finished. This is the first car I've ever done any body work on and I think it came out pretty nice. Here it is loaded up in my dad's pickup last night to take over to Rogers, AR, so @inkstain27 can paint it. It's maiden voyage, even if it isn't under it's own power. Adam, @inkstain27, is doing my painting on the car. The big stipulation, however, is that he gets to pick the paint. So... I have no idea what the color is going to be until I go to pick it in a couple weeks. Here it is in his freshly finished booth at his shop. He said it's the first car to be painted in his booth (hopefully not the first car he's painted however). I couldn't resist taking another photo of his killer RPU.
