I pushed my Austin outside today to get a look at my ride height. Is it high enough in the front or should I go higher or lower??? Or just let it be? What do you guys think?

Too high will affect handling. Those early gas class cars were not stable at higher speeds.......unless it's just a cruiser.

Looks great the way it is, but I would mock it up an inch or two higher to see how I liked it. You could prolly just put jackstands under the frame, and let the suspension hang down, to get the visual idea. Its going to boil down to a matter of how YOU like it . Either way, you got a winner there!:D

Take a good look at some old gassers and I think you will agree that you gotta go higher....

I like mine sitting about level with the "Look" coming from the big and little tires. In other words the stance overcomes the "rubber rake" and still has ample space between the front tire and the top of the wheel arch.

    Short answer, Looks Good!

Thanks for the replys guys. Does anybody here do custom spring work? I can't find a over the counter spring that has enough arch in it. To answer some other questions, it will be a 355 sbc with a 6-71 and a 350 turbo trans and it has a narrowed Olds/Pontiac rear.

The front will get higher all by itself as soon as you mash it. Better leave it where it is. All these guys talking about raising the front to look 'old school' aren't thinking about the fact that those old cars sat aboout like your STANDING STILL, the fronts came up on a run, whihc is the picture most folks have in thier mind.
