bunch of cruisin around town. And the King of California, Dave Alvin at The Continental Club Friday night along w/ the Leroi Bros. That's where I'll be.
Allways lots to do in Austin for us out of towners. My experience is that it is a very hospitable city - google the tourist board and find out whats going on Heres a sugestion if you have just driven into town and need a rest. Park outside the Continental Club - at midday it's the only time you will find a space all weekend - walk across the street and buy a large coffee of your choice and spend a while watching peoples reaction to your car. An added bonus is that the street has a nice slope that is ideal for bumpstarting your car if you have been running on battery alone since your generator shot craps just south of Little Rock - but that is another story. And what Steve says for Friday night - not to be missed.
While you're drinking your coffee at Jo's grab a copy of the Austin Chronicle to read. They're free and they'll have stacks of them. There are tons of restaurants and music venues listed. With all of the bands in Austin you just might spot on that you've gotta see in addition to the show at the Continental.
