Its been posted before...but just curious if any one knows or has more pics. of this SC. Seems to have nailed it in my opinion. Great car and would love to know more.
Looks slightly chopped to me. Can't tell about the ride height...looks stock. I didn't notice the missing visor.
Curious what the visor treatment was... Gotta be some more info. on this car out there...there certainly was a lot of eyes on it and it pretty distinctive.
"Visor treatment"? There is no visor, hence no treatment. Looks like a car that just had parts stripped off of it. Other than the cut and welding of the chop job, I'd bet there is no customizing done. Pretty simple hot rod.
When posting a pic.....please select "FULL IMAGE". Otherwise a small "THUMBNAIL" picture will end up being posted.
I am very fond of this pic and hotrod...there are several veterans of the hotrod evolution here that could possibly identify this...@rockerhead, @woodiemike, @Pete1 and a well informed hotrod historian @Jimmy B may chime in to clarify ole #25's history. There are others but these fellows come to mind at first thought. Perhaps some more pics may surface...that would be great. I saw a reference to this being Muroc 1938...which may make it harder to identify. Okay lets throw this out there...One thing for sure if I happened upon this as a survivor I wouldn't change a thing.
My bets are its definitely chopped 2.5" to 3" maybe more...I get a chuckle when I open my door on the coupe I can crank my window 2" above the door frame...
It also has cowl lights mounted in the gas tank that look like 33,34 units. some 28,29 sport coupes had cowl lights, but they were mounted forward and low on the cowl sides. I think he may have re-located the gas tank. Also looks like 33,34 17 inch wheels. Seems like I saw this car in one of Don's hot rod books. Very cool ride....
I will stand corrected. @Nobey that an interesting observation with the year of light and positioning as it was in 34. The hotrodding spin had definitely begun...
I googled the photo, and found it on other forums. The Wrong-Un here on the Hamb said on another forum that this car inspired his build, and said the pic was Muroc in 38. I figured since he knew that much, he may have more info. We will find out, next time he logs in.
HRS thats the same pic...just the whole pic from which your original post came from... again great shot...Ole 25 Bumped up @The Wrong-Un The influence behind the car was a picture from "When The Hot Rods Ran", the account of Muroc in 1938. The "larger", entire picture is great. I love seeing all eyes on this car. It seems pretty distinctive...gotta be some more info. out there.
Looks like it's running "big and little" tires as well Sent from my SM-G900T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
HRS it's an old photo I pulled off one of the HAMB threads. I really don't know how much it's been chopped but whatever the amount, it's subtle.
