Almost bought this car once here om Hamb. Anyone know any history about it? When it was buildt? If it ever got finished or it only got to this stage?? If i remember right the top was removable. So give me something if u know or any pics of it from then and now.
Look's like a Cali black plate car....the rear is somewhat stock 60' stude - the front looks like a 55/56 Pontiac headlight with a double to match the rear ? Top chop with 57 Olds three window back glass..bout all I can tell...where is it now ?
I saw that car at the L.A. Roadster Show (SoCal) three or four (?) years ago. Strange indeed. It looked like it was on it's "second" iteration of modifications. Like it was modified and maybe complete, then back under the hack saw and modified again. While not at all my cup-a-tea, most of the bodywork...as I recall...was done fairly well. That's all I can tell you. Mike
Norrland, I played with google image search and I was able to come up with a cached image from Bob's Resource page. Under unique Studebakers; http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...Uniq/uniq1111.html+&cd=12&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us Pick the image and it takes you to another stored image http://www.studebaker-info.org/Uniq/Uniq1111/310169725807/310169725807.html Perhaps you can track the car down thru the ebay seller. Hope that helps.
Oh, lucky you, I scrolled down on the "unique Studebakers" page and found this: http://www.studebaker-info.org/Uniq/Uniq1111/un20100908/un20100908.html Another page about the car, It appears to be the mother lode of info on this ride.
Wow that is really cool. That would be awesome if it was ever finished. Not many open air Hawks around. Only a few drop tops custom-made that I am aware of.
