Here we go again--had to have something to do so another 40 std coupe in the works-must be nuts-has been here about 2 1/2 months so far-hope to have it running and driving in a couple of weeks then to upholstery.
This one has a 65 327 with L79 internals and intake, etc.

Do you have a time machine. You always seem to have another 40!

No time machine-retired and at 71 I need something to keep me occupied. Just looked at another real nice stock black 40 std cpe here and may jump on it too for the winter project. I am undecided on it but my wife said to get it and stash it after she looked it over carefully-may be the next one

Tim, I have a buddy in Colorado building a 40 coupe. I told him about how you do the A/C, like in the pictures. He will be watching the build. Do you use a Gen 2 unit from Vintage Air? Steve

You must start with really nice cars. Or else you never sleep. How many cars do you do each year?

  6. I think you've almost built as many as Henry.:D

Steve--yes gen 2----I have nothing much to do so I play with ol 40's--about 1 1/2 per yr--this is number 13 I think. Always looking for the next one--told my wife no more but that was 5 cars ago so I guess maybe 1 or 2 more is feasible.

  8. Do I see a battery mount under the right front fender? If so, detail pics please. I'm building my first car, a 40 Sedan.

Hey Tim, looks like another beauty in the making. I'll be watching for updates.

  10. I'll be watching, too. The details on your '40s are an inspiration.

I purchased a 39 Deluxe Coupe a while back. They laid the carpet down before installing the bench seat. In order to check or add brake fluid I have to take everything out of the car. Could you give the dimensions to the center of the cap over the master brake assembly so I can out a circle and make a carpet hat or do have a better way.
    Thank You

Tim, you are amazing. I am 74 and can't keep up with one build. I will follow this one.

Dan--I posted several pics of battery install with some info for you

  16. Man you are cranking them out fast,I know from experience that if you stick with one style car you can build them much faster. HRP

  17. Looks like a nice car Tim. I like the way you routed your a/c lines. I too would like to see how you mounted the battery.

can post some bat pics--here is one I may do next but too nice to fool with-dead stock with fresh flathead, etc

HRP-you are so right-40's mainly and a few trifive chevys-have always wanted to do a 32 5 window but probably never will-may be a little out of my league. I made templates long ago for various items--have sent to a few folks on here to assist them.

You have nailed the stance and tire sizes to perfection on your cars.
Would you share exactly what wheel and tire size are used ? Beautiful, timeless style. Love it.
