Movie now on TCM "Love Finds Andy Hardy" 1938. Check out the model A roadster that Micky Rooney is driving, wings on the 3 door hood, two tone paint, wheel disc, lay back windshield, center bar in windshield and dual rear view mirrors and he got Judy Garland in it.

I want his hat. I've got a rare Stetson Fedora, but I dig that hat he's wearing.

  6. The Andy Hardy (A H ) I remember was broke and couldn't keep tubes on his rims despite his financial situation. :D

  7. Is it just me or does young Micky Rooney favor Chip Foose?

There was a whole series of Andy Hardy Movies and I think the little model A roadster was in most if not all of them. In one movie, Andy tried to borrow $200 from his ol' man (Judge Hardy) to trade for a sweet little '34 roadster but the ol' man turned him down. The series just wouldn't have been the same without the little model A!!!

I watched an AH marathon the other day, and that was driving me nuts.

In a later movie Andy turned the roadster into a tow truck, called the "Meat Grinder". It was painted with large stripes, covering the whole car.

It would have been awesome to be alive back then.

  14. I saw that roadster in a car collection in Philips scrap yard in back of Red Hill, Pa. Mr. Philips went to a movie studio sale in Ca. to buy it and model ships used in war movies. The car was loaded with dust as it sat in his dirty garage at the yard. He's died a number of years ago and every thing was sold at auction.
