Another huge step for me in this....usually the huge steps involve $$$....but I finally saved enough dough to buy new shoes, wheel cylinders and a few extra bits for the Ford front end and the same stuff and drums for the Scout rear end. Sacramento Vintage was the source for the front brakes and the local Napa was where I purchased the rear brake parts. They also let me spend some quality time with the radiator hoses and I managed to fine a pair that seem like they will work. Pecking away slowly but surely. Thanks for looking in folks. (dont mind the light bulb....I was in the middle of changing it and didnt want it to roll off the table...LOL)

Here is where we are right now, I have things semi put back together so I can run all the hard brake lines, and fab bracket for the e-brake cables and build a drive line. I am also doing the final grinding on some of the parts I fabricated.

Small update... I changed how I was going to mount the battery. Originally I intended build a box that hung from the underside of the floor but instead I built a box that hangs from a cross member on the frame. The bottom of the box hinges down so the battery can slip down under and passed the rear end. It actually worked better than I had anticipated.

Body back on for the umpteenth time.....The plan all along was for a removable hidden small trailer hitch. After pondering about 5 different ways to bolt it to the frame I think I may have finally figured out how to build some brackets that wont really show, and I needed the body on because things are really tight under there

And the battery all snug tucked up in the frame.....

Onward and upward.....thanks for looking in.

Thank you so very much, very nice compliment.
Thank you all for looking in on my build and the great input and advice I have gotten over the years.
I really wish this build hadnt taken so long, but cant change the past, only can press on. Getting very close to prepping the frame for some paint finally...
About two weekends ago I actually fired the motor up. Little timing adjustment and a missing c-clip on the rear float and it absolutely ran perfect. Kinda loud with those short glass packs in the garage (not that there is anything wrong with that), but it should sound really good outside. That was a pretty big deal to me finally hearing it run and now with painting on the near horizon things are really looking up!!!
    Thanks again.

Oh, and for those that dont know: Napa # UP 25629 is the 21" long front brake hose that matches up to the early Ford wheel cylinders.

Little hidden hitch all in. When installed the only thing that shows is the actual receiver. When removed the frame brackets dont show at all. All done with welded in 1/2" lock nuts, so its a breeze to take in and out. Almost got the garage semi cleared out to blow the thing apart and do a tiny bit of welding on the frame then sand and prime.

Lots of effort trying to make sure anything that can stay out of view and tucked up inside the frame is.

Frame is all painted. Gonna set it aside for a week, and get a few more things ready for paint. So far so good.

Well, frame is on some stands, and I rolled the body over for the first time. Bit of welding and grinding and it should be ready for some black paint for the underside as well.

Thrashing away! More than a bit of work. Ended up repairing an area of the firewall and building some small sheet metal corners to strengthen the very back corners of the quarter panels....made a huge difference. Cleaned it up and tossed some black at it.

Just found this thread! (Actually yesterday. It takes a while to read through but well worth it.) Car looks great. I admire your persistence. I'll be following along to the end now.

Thank you very much for looking in. This has been quite the project, I am still amazed at how much work something like this truly is....still cant believe I originally thought I could build this thing in a year....HA!

As of last night I mounted the clutch and brake pedals and the master cylinder, so the assembly has officially started. The plan is, hopefully by Wed or Thurs I can spray the front of the frame the Condor Yellow, so I can start mounting brake lines.

Stay tuned, and thanks again ya'll!
