    Hello Rolf,
Nice looking engine, even so waiting on chassis!
I suppose that it is from some Curtiss JN - Jenny biplane, not older OX-5 engine? Any more inmformation for us: performances and specifications?

    Regards,
    Zoran

    Rolf,
Sorry, it seems that I made mistake: Curtiss OX-5 V-8 engine was from JN-Jenny?
Under "older engine" I tought on his V-8 aircooled engine at frist used for his record-braking motorcycle and later on the first biplanes...

    Hello Rolf,
With such big capacity and 8 cylinders, slow-revolving engine - it shall have wonderful sound and appearance (with visible valve mechanism! The same, it would have enormous pulling power with light chassis and even lighter body, maybe high speed too...

Beside that, you will have wonderful historical monument in your hands, working and moving!

Happy and successful construction and later driving!

    Ciao,
    Zoran

    Hello Rolf,
Almost unbelievable project with magnificent realisation!
Do you have some calculations or just expectations about performances of your FN-Curtiss aero-engined monster cycle-car?

    Hello Rolf!
I suppose that I wouldn't be so brave with such expensive automobile, even if ti is easy to drive (probably not)...
    --- ---
I had experience of such speeds only with my old Mercedes 190, 2.3 16 valves (Cosworth engine) – just a few times when some local kids want to race with me. Excellent acceleration and road-holding with hydro-pneumatic suspension... Once, my old Mitsubishi Gallant was so fast – but I didn't have time to watch dials (instrument table), just trying to control it on a road... However, with my new Yugo, with two friends going to weekend-shopping in Münich in 1991 – we used all of its full 65 HP power and drive it full speed – up to 157 km/hour! Quite interesting but frightening experience. Of course - only on German "autobahn"! All of my other automobiles were too old, too small and too bad for such speeds...
    --- ---
On open chassis with minimal body on it, big wire-spoked wheels, chain transmission and gargantuan engine – maybe as a passenger (just maybe)...

    Regards,
    Zoran

It's a 1914 Velie chassis with a Curtiss OX-5 and a hand built speedster body. If I remember correctly it is 120" wheel base.

Uncle Buck, do you have the original Velie engine? I know someone looking for one, even just the block would help.
