Has anyone had good luck using flare fittings on aluminum ac lines, I have one with a hole in it and need to cut out small piece and splice together using flare fittings. Thanks, Bob

  2. They key is leak control, so assuming the alum line can be flared, it should work.

Funny story, friend had a late model very OT car, just a beater GM sedan to drive to work. A/C did not work, I found the alum hard line had rubbed a hole in it. Being a beater, and not wanting to spend real money, I just put a piece of rubber hose and a hose clamp around the hole area. It worked, Yes it was very crude and improper repair. But the point is the line just need to be sealed, which is the same problem you have.
