Very cool car. The owner really seems to know his stuff-at least as far as what he wanted, what he's got and how to piece it together. Some serious money went into this car, regardless of where it was built. Just proves the HAMB's international and that hotrodding is something in your heart.

It just shows how this hobby as well as a lot of other stuff from here has a world wide following, US tires on his coveralls and the Firestone sign. That car is spot on, sinister and classy at the same time. Anyone have info on the side mirror?

  5. Good stuff Ryan, but I hope we don't end up with a bunch of xenophobic b.s. in this thread.

Whether it's Japan, New Zealand, Sweden, or any other "foreign" country, I absolutely marvel at the love for our American bred hot rod ethos that these guys are so passionately dedicated to. The time and effort they invest, aside from the considerable financial commitment, is heart warming and admirable. In this they are our brothers.

I don't think we will man... That would be pretty silly... as we have a lot of members from Japan, Australia, Europe, etc... This place has always proved to be pretty worldly.

Very nice, its funny how many of us that love hotrods also love 356s like this man does. Both have a world wide appeal.

I get to Japan every year or so on business and I always see neat old American iron, both cars and motorcycles, on the roads. Their Mooneyes show is great!

    Beautiful roadster.

  13. I like how he said "350 Chevy" in the same breath with Ardun, Olds rocket and Y Block. Finally, some respect for the SBC!

Thanks Boss, Great to recognize goings on in Japan. I lived there 12 years and know a few hoodlums. The language barrier causes many not to post but you can be sure they are lurking.....
There is some amazing stuff tucked away in Japan.

I like the overall look of it.

But, to me, it's over the top. The Ardun heads, the Pines, the Electrolines, the wheelcovers etc.

Yeah, but if the man gave it to you, what part would you take off? I think it's only over the top because most of us could never collect all those parts to make it go. Once you have changed one part from stock, why not 100?

That's a great little video! The rolling shots and sound are wonderful, not to mention shooting it in B&W! Whoever put that together knows a thing or two.

I belong to a few Japanese (and a couple other countries) forums & they really do love old US cars, Any time I post thing about the beater I'm working they ask a million questions & a lot of great comments. I also have a buddy who goes to Japan 3-4 times a year with suitcases full of old parts & trades them for hand crafted parts from over there. The prices overseas is stupid high for old crap I would throw out.( And they don't bitch about rust!)

This guy is a car guy through and through, some damn nice bike stuff as well................hope to see him at the "Rising Sun Roundup" someday!:D:cool::D
