Tim McCoy's roadster pickup on the cover of the R&C. Local fireman who sold me the T frame I put my Bantam on. I sometimes think about the guys who went in the early days. The tow vehicles and roads they had to put up with. It's a lot better road now then when I first went but I was a lot younger.
What's going on in Bastrop? Colorado River Flats? Hell, we'll be racing at the bottom of Lake Travis if it don't rain!
Lou Bingham is the man! He's a fellow San Diego Roadster Club member. He still comes out to Bonneville and El Mirage and is always willing to help out and get his hands dirty. It is truly an honor to know him.
If you are asking me, No. I planned to be there with the Flashpoint 'liner. But instead I decided getting a pacemaker would be more fun. Good call, don't you think?

The story, and cover, are my favorite B-ville story And the stories are still there with the race teams, on team 4 trailer tires, we lost two motor home tires, one was the front and it jumped the motor home one lane to the left, on the two lane in Nevada.
Fantastic piece!!! I thought I was the only one who figured no matter what direction you travel in Nevada it uphill. Good to know I'm not alone. We towed to SpeedWeek and towed home. And we're heading back for WF. Just hope the 333,000+ miles truck behaves itself too.
I dont know what you all are reading the link takes me to a studebaker post about front ends???????? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This photograph has always been one of my favorite vintage Bonneville images: Lou Bingham's '32 Ford 5wd Coupe on the salt in '53
When I read the article, they talk about rare, sought after speed parts rather matter-of- factly. Kinda makes you want to get in the way back machine to make a parts run....
