The SCTA's El Mirage November meet. It was the last one of the year, and a two day event at that. I moved some things around on my plate so I could attend for the first time in many years. The forecast promised fair skies and light winds for the week...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
That is pretty incredible to see that dirt cloud following them as they rip through the track. I gotta make it out there one day to witness the action. Thanks!
ya good time out here but fucken cold, we set a new I/GCC recrord with the little tan 3600 subaru 114.710 not by much, but got it anyway. new car lots left in it.
I have heard wild tails about the dust at El Mirage and can see where they come from in the video. I cannot imagine that kind of a tail wind. I too would like to make it to El Mirage at some point. Sounds like a good season wrap up.
YES, it was windy and cold,, hail during Friday night course walk. But with the free horse power the speeds were up. McTim and his Uni cracked into the 140's. But for the the big news, for me, was that after many, many years, a Ford has unseated a long standing Chevy record. Brew 102 made a 135+ pass to take the XO Production record.
X2 on the cold and windy but it was worth it to see Rick Yacoucci go 258 for the fastest time on el mirage all year. Spent sunday at the drags in Pomona and had much nicer weather
COLD???, TRY FREEZING!! 70 is cold to us Cali boys. But what a great weekend. Our bike ran crappy, we had 4 runs but only completed 2. Saw alot of HAMB'rs out there this weekend and had a great time. Is it May yet??
The Brew 102, a non-aero full-size '54 Ford coupe with a Ford Inline 6 doing 135 and change was absolutely incredible! Sorry I missed you Jay!
Cold ?? Cold it was fucking cold I had ice all over my window come Sunday morning!! I had to take a dump at 4 AM and had to drive with my head sticking out the window as I could not see through the windshield!!! Our club SDRC set a few records. Pete in his V4 liner went 205 on a 201 record!!!
Windy and cold yes...but amazing days! Incredible people as usual. I love my Land Speed Racing Friends.
Had a great time. I drove the brew 102 car and got the record of 135.335 was quite happy. Was a whole team thing. Hope to take it to bonneville and see what happens.
Here is a ROCKET HEADS RACING crew shot from the EXTRA DELUXE eye of Holly Martin . We had a great time... weather permitting ! See ya'll next spring! Thank you Holly. Jeff Brock
Still one of my favourite pics and memories... It was in July 2010 when I was there so I didn't have to worry about the cold too much.
