History 64/65 Comets old drag cars lets see pictures

    Analog Dog, the absence of bodyside trim is the first telltale it is a Cyclone.

    Lack of side trim is a big clue! All the Factory 64s started out as Calientes,Cyclone were not out yet!It is a nice looking Tribute though! ROY.

    Even the Calientes had the Satin Black around the tail panel, it is a nice looking car though. Seems as though I've saw it before somewhere, a Magazine maybe, or one of my thousands of searches for 64 Comets?........Al

    Joe Orlando was one of the best drag race drivers around....he drove for jan.-cen in a 1940 Willy's....then drove for cerullo motors AFX 65 comet.."go where the action is"....he also frequented my dads Tire store on Broadway+Aurora in Lancaster in his street car a 1965 ford falcon w/427 and straight axle!

    Thanks much, only glass hood and deck-lid, wanted good fit with less work, I did acid dip doors and fenders though! Is TN body, OEM sheet metal and trunk floor, had one piece floor pans installed though...............Al

    No not Radirs!, they are made by Hole Shot. Much shiner just need cleaned from all the warm cold cycles the last couple years...............Al

    Thanks K.Wyson Yes Crites with a 3 inch modification. Wheels are by Hole Shot, look similar to the old school wheels but are aluminum and much lighter..............Al

    Who made the front wheels on the Comet in post 8242? They don't look like Radirs....

    Possibly Fenton, or Hurst....is my guess. Sears had their own version of that style too.
