I think we all can relate to wanting to learn about our past. In my case, the main reason I restored my late grandfather's dragster was to learn more about him. Doreen, it is my hope that you have as much success in your search for additional info / stories about your late father and the Road Rebels as I did in learning about my grandfather. Good Luck!

Great story, brought back some good memories and some sad ones also. We had a club the "Drifters", neighborhood group. We all had big plans, Uncle Sam and Viet Nam put all those plans on ice for most of us. Sad part is most us have all passed on. Those remaining love to get together when we can and laugh about the "good days". Never realized when we chose, rather Jack chose, the name how it fit as we Drifted to all parts of the country.

Doreen, that was just an awesome story, I had to read it twice! The jacket is absolutely beautiful, and I'm sure you think of your dad everytime you slip it on.
    Great Job, Silva's!

I can attest to the Silva's being great people. I am trying to get the ducks in a row to work on a few things with them but every time I have talked to them on the phone they've been nothing but pleasant. Their work is nothing short of masterful and I can't wait to get my hands on some finished products.\

Awesome story Ryan, keeping tradition alive in more ways then one!

When I first read Doreens post to find an old club from MA i figured it would dry up real quick! I wished for a moment that I was older and had some input to give to keep the search alive...I am so happy she was able to find some answers and some real leads to her search!
Its just one more piece to New Englands hot-rodding past that makes me wonder whats still out there!
    Thanks for posting, Ryan!

  28. Well worth it, my wool Vagabonds coat is a work of art! Props to the Silvas, they do awesome work!

Doreen, have you looked in old Hot Rod mags...............lots of clubs had the same names but I think there might have been a small club feature in one, I will look. Trent

You can see the plaque in the photo of me sitting on the tire of Ritchie's roadster but don't worry, I have a pic for you. :)
