    FRANK,
Pretty sure this is Middletown, NY....second turn as seen from the drive in area, which was new in 1967.

  10. Hi folks attached below are some pics of a famous Aussie Super Modified. This was driven to great effect by local legend Billy Wigzell. Whilst in Bills hands it was powered by a 383 Dodge and then lastly a fuel injected L88 427 Chev.

Pics show Bill in typical style at local track Rowley Park Adelaide.

MAY 15, 2009 -- I'm planning on doing a little Photobucket spring cleaning this weekend. I took a look at pages 82-152 of this thread and some of the same pics are showing up as many as three times! This is mostly my fault, because sometimes I post pics without realizing that I've posted them already (long ago) -- not to mention those who pulled Gordie's pics from VintageModifieds.com and posted them here too. No, I am not complaining or pointing fingers! But I think I should pull the multiples of my pics that appear here more than once. If you see a pic has been deleted, don't panic -- it simply appears elsewhere on this thread...

Anybody have any color photos of Ronnie Martin's yellow No. 4 coach that he raced at Lancaster (NY) Speedway, Spencer Speedway (Rochester) or Oswego (NY) Speedway in '72? The car was purchased from the Snyder Bros. (it was Bobby Hudson's No. 10 coach/sedan in '71). The next year ('73) it became a Pinto...

Is anyone going to the DAARA races in Zephyrhills Florida on February 19-22? I am flying in from TX and the owner of my father's old car is going to let me take it out for a few laps. The races are going to have vintage modifieds, sprints and Model A's.

In picture 1751, Tasnady's wreck, that happened on the backstretch at Reading. Tas drove up and over Red Coffin's trunk.

Ted Renshaw (Ridgeway, Ontario, Canada) at Lancaster (NY) Speedway, 1971. Ted was unable to locate the car after it was sold many times and eventually disappeared, so he built an exact replica of the '36 Chevy (in its original paint job -- yellow with a "flyin' 5" numeral).

Cam Gagliardi (Lockport, NY) at Lancaster (NY) Speedway, 1971. This car started out as a full-body Corvair in 1969. It won its last feature as a Corvair in 1971, then was reskinned as a Vega in '73 with Dave Cramer driving (and it won one more feature with Dave at the wheel before it disappeared). Ron McDonald Jr. (yes, his birthname is Ronald McDonald -- but they refused to sponsor him!) at Lancaster (NY) Speedway, 1975. His father, Ron Sr., also raced.

  30. I know Gary Balough drove the Batmobile, but wasn't it the brain child of Kenny Weld back in 1979?
