Yup @BIGREDTODD Color coat very soon, maybe tomorrow. Taking some time off to get the Wagon sold so I'll have some free time in the afternoon I hope. My paint I ordered came in today and I have some PPG Torch Red I picked up as well. Soon, very soon.

Tim The Y-Block Guy has been busy today. MSD in place and the correct black cap along with our wires are getting routed. We are just a few weeks away from firing this bad boy up.

Wow! this is really coming along nicely. Although I have been following this thread I don't remember your plans for the tranny. Maybe a 4 spd and aluminum flywheel?

Pass door sanded and primed inside and out. Solid door, just some minor surface rust. 10394652_440500816116355_6052734914097678571_n.jpg 11169951_440500826116354_2720226188203355748_n.jpg 11182066_440500839449686_7358048488163858943_n.jpg

Good progress today on the doors. Getting very close to squirting some paint on them. Possibly tomorrow. 11203121_441780742655029_6990214214109735293_n.jpg 11046508_441780765988360_3712010280331842404_n.jpg 11218716_441780729321697_6386889850562241804_n.jpg 11181284_441780779321692_4038421792589937325_n.jpg

I found a set of mirrors which I'm happy about. They are coming from Georgia. I was able to get the bench seat all stripped down to the bones. Some paint work on it then its off to the upholsterer. I finally found a set of 8 lug 16" wheels. Boy, those are tough to find in the narrower factory style design. Perfect for the truck. The radiator and tie rod ends came in today. The radiator is a direct fit aluminum setup. Found on eBay. Good price but the bottom outlet is on the wrong side. Sent the seller a note so hope to get that worked out. Looks like a nice piece though. The wheels will get painted either red or black and I'm looking at running moon discs on them. Seems appropriate for the period of the build. 11258155_444488039050966_8653507084882331675_n.jpg 11245492_444490575717379_2607023700344229355_n.jpg 11245484_444510122382091_3129919647109745869_n.jpg

Monster Hauler update. Had a buddy @BIGREDTODD donate some old crusty rusty headers to the project. Can't beat free, so I dropped them off at a local coater to see what they could do with them. Old chrome and rust I figured they couldn't hurt them no mater what so I had nothing to loose. After blasting they put on this hi temp black coating. I have not got to see them in person yet, the coater send me this photo. Can't wait to see them in person. I was able to get the inner fenders primed as well, which is good cause it rained today. I installed the fuel pump today and started getting the engine bay wiring together to reinstall. Once the inner fenders are sprayed black I can put the front clip back on and finish getting the body ready to shoot. Other than the passenger fender, the whole truck has been stripped down and primed. Getting closer. Carb should be done soon as well and I can get that installed. Transmission is cleaned and ready to paint, just need some warm weather to spray.

I found a before pic of the headers to give you an idea of their condition before the redo. 11260832_447107272122376_7810373218947018365_n.jpg

I've worn mine to work a couple of times and had a few people ask about it. Put me down for a black one.

@OahuEli new shirts are on the site now for purchase.

Here are some more updated pics of the Monster Hauler. Picked up the headers and got them installed. Painted inner fenders, hooked up clutch linkage and painted a bunch of small parts. Installing the headers reminded me how much I dislike headers. 10985348_448070335359403_8538509007968599474_n.jpg 1908142_448070355359401_4824565308243845680_n.jpg 10403432_448070345359402_7196038793488301990_n.jpg

Got the shocks put on last night. Brake parts came in today so I can start that. Need to swap in the new tie rod ends and once thats done I can put the front sheet metal back on and reconnect the wiring. I also got the clutch linkage hooked back up. The trans in painted, need to take a pic of that and it will get installed soon. The truck came with the second driveline bent so I need to find a replacement for that. Either friday or saturday I'll be picking up the white paint and do some more spraying to the inside doors and jams. Its coming together.

On another note, @mctim64 and I will be firing the Monster motor on Monday. I'll be shooing video of that to post as Tim will as well I'm sure. Can't wait to hear that thing roar.
