Looking for good pics of this transition. The car in working on is hammered and I have 0 reference. I tried searching but no detailed pics.

I think there is a defined edge along the top of the quarter where the sail panel meets the quarter. If that is what you are asking.
You can kind of see it in this shot.

I don't have the car anymore to be able to take more photos.

Hopefully these help you out. First two are a '49-'50 and last 3 are a '51

Of course you know your car has an earlier rear window (49-50 ) - a good thing since 51 rear windows much harder to do right. Biggest issue is top wants to dip right before the window- especially on the sides ( as is now shown on your car- best to cut out the corners and form new metal ( like cretins example ) , although with enough work you can stretch the original metal. Good luck- you have a lot of metal work ahead.....

Yep,Matt got it right. Especially with a deep chop you need to re-make the whole back of the top with new metal to make it look right. Don't try a deep chop with a 51 rear window- it don't work....

Awesome pics. Yeah I won't have the height to really fan out the radius below the window so I'll be wheeling some panels. I'm just pissed that they hacked up the edge of the quarter. It's a bad angle in the pic but it actually looks like they took a torch to it.
