My avatar is my CT buddy's grandfathers AD dump. Family name is Cane, written on the side. Good thing the weighmasher didn't follow him home...it is all cement in those bags!

Here's my '52 Chevy I've been working on. I hope to have it up and running yet this summer. It's my first "ground up" project, first top chop, etc. It's sitting on a S-10 chassis, with dropped spindles, ZQ8 springs, sway bars, Camaro rear, 350 crate motor and a 5 speed manual transmission. The S-10 wheels on it are just for fit up, it'll have 15 x 8 rallys. I'm going to try to keep it looking just like it is for a while.

I know it's sick and wrong, but I dig those rims. Grew up in the 80s and those look like the Camaro wheels of the day. Love the truck, rallys will look great!

Nice chop, too. Which S10 frame did you use? swb/lwb/xcab?

Rick... your truck is right on the money. I love the chop and the stance. I'd like to know some details about the frame swap also. What year truck was it from and what length? This thread has got me wanting to build an AD truck now. I know of a pair of 1950's that can be had for $600, so this has gotten the gears churning.

I've posted pics before, but heres a shot of my pick up. It's about time for a new paint job, everytime I wash it there is a little less red left.

Here's one I tried to buy last fall before the Pileup. Was hoping to drive it there as is just to see if the Christmas tree would make the trip. Bummer is, the old guy wasn't selling. Says he's going to restore it. Oh well.

Thanks for the nice comments on my truck. I would like to thank Clark (So-What) for the great write up on the S-10 frame swap he did a while back. I used a '82 regular cab, long bed frame, followed his write up and it worked very nicely.

Since this was my first chop I thought I better keep it simple so I only took a 1-1/2" out of the top and back window. I shaved the drip rails and wing windows to give it a smoother look. Actually the hardest part of the chop I thought was welding those damn outside door trim mouldings back together after I cut them down

I have a 1952 Chevy 1/2 ton that I've been working on. Its almost done. I bought the truck when I was 15 and am 18 now. Im doing the whole thing as a period correct mild kustom from 1952-54. It has frenched headlights, shaved handles, nosed, 53 cad wheel covers, 50 merc bubble lens taillights, and a replicated gaylord interior, wide whites of course, and appleton 112 repops with a little magic added. Im painting it next friday. then she'll be getting the final touches. If I could only resize pictures so you dont need a friggin magnifiying glass; I DID exhaust the search feature thank you. thanks for reading, you'll see pics soon; I hope.

This is what I will be starting with, Hope to have it on the road by next spring, depends on time and funding. Plan to keep the 58 235 and 3 speed. Change the rear, lower it, 2x1 intake, fenton split with smittys,Astros or Radirs with wide whites, black satin body with silver flake and purple scallops out lined in red, louverd hood, black gloss bumpers with Moon tank in center, grill and running boards, Diamond Plate bed. Interior will have blue Flake wheel, blanket seat cover, Dixco tac on dash, floor shift with Mack Truck bull dog top. Gonna be a daily driver next spring. Before

This thread has inspired me, along w/ Clarks s10 swap tech article. Just bid on an Ebay auction tonight and looks like I am the proud owner of a 51 3W cab and front clip. Now I just need to collect the rest of the parts...

I'm glad that tech on the S-10 frame swap has helped some guys. I know it's not for everybody but it does work nice. I wonder how many trucks were inspired by it.

    Gringo...I like the silver one!

do you have any better shots from the side? I am thinking of running those wheels on my 53 gmc after I put it on a s-10 frame. It should be about the same height as yours. thanks.
