Hi Folks, I am looking for information about the lenght of the "modern" leaf springs that are sold by CE and Posies and others, either in a kit or separate for 1937-1939 Chevy cars. I know they are 2.5' wide, but does anyone know the Eye to Eye measurement? The original leafs that are on the car with the torque tube setup are 49' Eye to Eye. Thanx!
It's normal procedure according to springs shops online: to measure from front eye to center stud. From back eye to center stud, along the spring. And then measure from center stud to the imaginary line between the two eyes. This gives the best fit/match for your car. Also so cars/trucks can have the centering stud move forwards or backwards to center the axle in the wheels housing or fenderwell. This might not be any for your question, but it would help to ensure that you get the right spring for your car! Best of luck.
