does anyone know if there is an easy swap that works using the bubble lenses of 36 headlight and maybe the rings if necessary on different smaller buckets?

don't know if this will answer your question, but they will fit on 35/37 Ford pickup buckets which are more rounded & smaller...

1937/38 Chevy has a bubble lens and is smaller diameter than 36 Ford lens...

The pickup ones share the same reflector and will go right together with those...you'll have a nearly spherical headlight.

I use the Buick, because of bead roll type shape, but cad also works, I think the Buick is 37, not positive on cad year . Just look/measure the diameter

  6. '35-36 Ford car and '38-'39 trucks use the same bucket. so the '36 car "bug eye" lens and ring will fit any of the above and will also fit '35-'37 Ford truck buckets. I have '36 bug eyes on my '38 pickup.

Yes, the 36 car lense on a 36 pickup bucket sure makes an unusual looking light. It really is spherical.
