I recently picked up a 1957 chevy 2dr hardtop. It's currently black with red interior. I't been painted at least once. I've search the internet to find the trim and paint codes but can't seam to find them. Does anyone have them handy? If so what is the code for black paint and red interior? Thanks
www.chevytalk.org is probably going to be more help to you with this. http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/search.pl The above link is original '57 paint codes and such. Shouldn't it really matter what color you want it?
According to "How To Restore Your 1957 Chevy"... The paint code for '57 Onyx black exterior sheetmetal is #793. The black exterior with Matador red interior sheetmetal is #2434. The interior trim combo # varies, depending on which material combo you have- Black & red cloth, red imitation leather: either #676 or #697 (both are listed for that combination). Silver & red imitation leather: #683. Hope this helps. If you're going with a by-the-numbers restoration, you might find more help on www.chevytalk.com than on the HAMB.
