LMAO! The money part always hurts...that's what I told him after he revived.. :D

Here are the perches all tacked up. I started to put a couple of cool lightening holes in them but I wanted to keep it as strong as possible. Woulda looked neat though.

Man I see what you mean now! I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like that. I'd probably find a rusted out donor with ratty skins and graft my outside skin to its support structure. Might even could just brace yours a smidge and go with it.

I should probably add that some of the reason the rear on mine was so expensive is because that price includes disc brakes and ladder bar and wheelie bar mounts already tig welded on. I opted for that route because I don't want to heat warp my housing. They have the means of correcting any of that.

That rear end sounds like that's the way to go for sure. Got donor doors need a better welder not. Me! They open and shut good. Do not think it made it any faster. That's racing in the 60s

Mr. BD, the perches turned out good. Hell, they may even work. Smart move on the rear end.

The great thing about is that its just metal and it's hard to screw it up beyond the point of repair. Just cut it out and try again. I can understand not wanting to practice on your donor doors though. Those 60's racers didn't stop for nothing did they?!! Really cool car you have there.

It's not soooo bad when I stop and look at what all I have done. I have $14300 in labor alone (at $40/hour which is dirt cheap). Headers and doors are gonna be the toughest I think. I am having a blast though so no worries. :D

Really looking forward to seeing what you do with the headers.

I really dig your approach to solving problems and fixing things John:
You look at what is broken/missing/needs fabrication, and instead of worrying about how everybody else is doing it,you come up with a common sense, well thought out solution.

    Examples: -The Scoop
-The pins to retain the front end
    -The axle perches
    -the firewall

There are more that I can't think of right now, because it's 3:49am and I'm sitting here taking a dump, but you get the picture,I'm sure.
Hopefully not the picture of me taking a dump, but of what I was saying about your slick approach to problem solving.

Can't wait to see this thing bounce down the track at Meltdown VI!:)

Ps:You'll have to keep me posted on where you pit, cause we're bringing a motor home next year, cause you'd make a hell I an entertaining neighbour!:)

    Scott

EEEEEEWWWWWWW ! All I can think about now is you sitting on the throne talking about a "slick approach" and it is truly disturbing. I wish I could take a stick and poke my "minds eye" out. :)
