What all do ya gotta do to the 496 before its ready to sing?

 

Pretty much everything Ric..It's a mess..I really don't even know what I have there. Total unkown. THEN once it's together I gotta get it all tuned and going straight. The heads are heavily worked which could be good or bad. Friend feels like they did a pretty good porting job but that's just looking through the top. May be a real boat anchor.

...basically I'm hoping for the best and planning for the worst.

It's a nice pedal! I was planning on using it, but I think I'm gonna build something coming off the cage now.
They go for $60 but I'll send it for $45

 

This is so easy and works so well I thought I should share it.

 

Hell yeah, thank ya Mr. Bean! (Mr Dip doesn't really have good ring to it...) Man, I'll have cast off parts from the world reknown, fire breathin', big block screamin', wheel totin' gasser 'The Vagabond'. How cool is that! Hammer down on the build cuz, lookin' good. Love a '56!! Good tip on the horse mat....anything to hear the tunes better, right? Cheers!

 

WORLD REKNOWN!!?.......hmmmmmmm...(I never realized)..in light of this newly gathered information...the larger gas pedal is now listed at $453....(plus shipping and handling)

That horse mat is a bit pricy (like $40 for a 4X8 sheet) but it gets it done. Thing ain't going nowhere!

Love my paint gun! I was doing great and then got a bit cocky and had a run but overall come out pretty good. I watched my painting video and noticed some things I could do better. Some of my body work could use some extra love so I think I'm going to bite the bullet and sand those spots down and try again. If it kinda bugs me now it will gnaw at me later. Come this far might as well do it right.

To say I found some spots that needed some work is an understatement. Amazing how something that's looks pretty good can look so bad after you spray it.








Worked my tail off and got it resprayed and other than I few small pinholes that I can use glazing compound on its passable.

Race cars usually only look nice from the grandstands anyway. Any blemishes just make it period correct.lol

AT OVER 100MPH NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THOSE MINOR "IMPERFECTIONS" IF THE MINOR SPOTS GET BIGGER JUST MAKE IT FASTER

I HAVEN'T EVER HEARD ANYONE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TWO LANE BLACKTOP CAR NOT BEING "SLICK".
THEY ALL JUST SAY "THAT CAR IS BADASS"

Just checking to see if you are doing OK. Nothing happening for a couple of days.

 

I'm fine pal just catching up on some rest. I go go go then I just have to recharge my battery. That and while I was at work letting the primer cure in the sun the wind picked up and blew the stand over my clip was sitting on. Cracked it up a little bit and just generally deflated my ambition..for a few days that is. I'm just about ready to get back at it.
