This is a complete rebuildable engine. Transmission is already sold. Engine will sell complete with carburetor, air cleaner, throttle linkages, distributor, starter, generator, voltage regulator, road draft tube, etc. Starter and generator are in excellent operating condition. Read on for full description of engine condition. This engine was original to my 54 Chieftain. I have put 45,000 miles on this engine since I got it, making the total 90,000. I pulled the engine because of a rod knock in cylinder 3. I've done new rod bearings once before, but the knock came back, it's time for a full rebuild. The crankshaft will probably need machining to clean up. (see photo of rod journal 3) The car was being driven regularly when the engine & trans were pulled. Short trips around town, as well as 100-mile trips across Long Island. This car was an old lady car, regularly driven on short trips since new, and it never sat. This engine still turns over very easily. If you give this engine fuel & spark, it will run. This is the high-compression engine, 127hp. From the factory this engine came only with the Hydramatic transmission, but this engine will fit Pontiac manual transmissions. I will help you load this engine in a truck. I really would rather not ship it.
