  1. Put me for another with compliments on the chop amount and using the 3-piece rear window. It's coming along nice, keep it up!

Small update, I got the motor out last night. Transmission off but didn't get the bell housing off yet. The flywheel bolts have been fighting me and so far they are winning.

That flywheel is a PITA to pull.
Dont forget to pull the rear main cap . You got to get the bolts out of the crank before the flywheel will slide out.

The bolts are a snug fit in the crank and may need some prying and pulling.
You will also need to rotate the crank. ... like unloading a revolver.
Laying engine on its side first may be the safest route.

Its just 6 nuts and bolts. Haha
    Good luck

  6. Yeah I got the cap off that was a chore, it's in there nice and tight! The flywheel bolts are being a royal pain tho!!I can't seem to get a good grip on them! I don't think they have ever been out. I'm considering doing all the seals on the axle and tranny and keeping all of the drivetrain stock, instead of swapping everything out.

Got a little done on the c pillar today, doing all this work defiantly makes me appreciate Kustoms that much more!

Also I need some help/advice I am trying to get this bolt out that holds the shift fork on ( it's takes a flat blade screw driver) so I can get the clutch and flywheel out but not having any luck. I have tried lube, heat, impact and no luck at all. I don't want to have to cut the bell housing off, but I think that's my next option.. Thoughts? You dont need to take that screw out!
It holds unholy demons sealed in at the factory

1 take the snap ring out.
    (Circled in picture)

2 slide out the throwout bearing collar

3 unhook the throwout bearing from the fork

4 unhook (yank)the fork from the ball pin (other side of the demon screw you were fighting)
Steps 3and4 5 at same time

5 slide fork out the side hole.

6 loosen all pressure plate bolts a little at a time. Tuning the crank for access should be six of them. then remove completely.

7 remove clucth disc and pressure plate out bottom.

    9 remove the six flywheel
nuts... clutch side. Then pull bolts out completely toward crank. After removing oilpan
    And rear main cap.
    10 Slide out flyweel
11 remove the four bellhousing bolts.
    Good luck

  17. Big thanks to hacknwhack for the knowledge on how to get the clutch flywheel and bell housing off! After 8 consecutive days of fighting it, it's finally off!! Compression on the motor was decent, everything looks to be in decent shape, I have one small hole in the #1 piston. I'm dropping the head off today to be gone through and new valves. As for the motor I think I'll order a new piston hone the cylinders and install new rings. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440514016.002221.jpg

Also got started on making the new cat walk! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440514053.886770.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440514093.342228.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440514147.034333.jpg
Put it through the slip roll then English wheel. Hoping to have this done tonight. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440514200.476173.jpg

Also the adapter I got off Craigslist come to find out is the wrong one its for a 248 dynaflow the guy lied to me(typical Craigslist) however big shoutout to bendstons he told me to send me back the one I have and he will send me back the one I need! That's some great customer service! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440514315.814754.jpg
Here it is on the spare motor I got. I guess the only difference in the kit is the flywheel adapter, so that's all I'll be sending back. Since my crank is from a 3 speed and this kit is for a dynaflow

So I got the motor torn down and dropped off at the machine shop. I had a small complication dropping the Pistons out on one cylinder, pushrod stud twisted half way and gauged the cylinder wall. now I have to go 30k over and all new piston. 2 cylinders lost the rings and whiped out the Pistons anyways.
Cam and lifters had small pitting and weren't convexed so they are getting grinded

I was in a push to get the car done for a wedding the 26 of September, so I think all of this unexpected expense and downtime will make me come up shy of making the day. I was telling this to a great friends of mine (I call him my adopted grandpa) and he offered me his 55 Glass top crown Victoria!! His late brother built it about 15 years ago in Maryland! (We're near Sacramento ca) I'm so stoked to drive it and have it debut in the wedding! Here is a few pics of it along with one of me and him when I bought my caddy from him years ago. 20. Got the cat walk all formed and in. Wish I could have got the gaps a little closer on the flange but they aren't bad I can still shrink them in a little. Plan for tonight is to finish the cat walk and then the roof and c pillar on the driver side. 21. Started cleaning out the interior and wire wheeling the floors, getting ready to do the floor boards and take a break from the roof. I wanna get all my stainless fitted before finishing all the welding and blending.

  22. It's looking good, that's a nice roofline. Cool Crown Vic too.
