I'm trying to find the part numbers of the pinion and and axle seals in a 1952/3 Olds diff. I'm having trouble finding the right ones. Both the pinion and axle seals have let go at once, and is spraying oil all over the pickup.

Any one got a parts manual they can look up?

    Cheers.

Jimbob the numbers you seek are Pinion seal '47 to '52 are 514066
and '53 to '56 are 565889 (double lip type). And axle seal '39 to '54
is 565966. Try Frank Tonnitto in Silverdale 02 47742022.
    Cheers Dago.

If it has the same axle seals as the ones in the states they can be taken apart and the seals from a 55 olds put in and then put back togather, its kind of hard to describe how its done but when you get the axle seals out you will see there is two halfs with the edge bent over where they come togather. Bend the edge back over or grind it off so the two halfs will seperate then you wil see the seal that goes around the axle,I just happened to have a set left over from a 55 I had and I put them in and put the two halfs back togather and down the road I went and since all blew out check the vent. Jimbob, I once used 6 cyl red holden front crankshaft seals as axle seals to get me out of trouble temporarily.

Wow. After having a look at it today, I think I'll pull the axles and measure them. They are newly mahcined axles for the Ford 5 on 5 pattern, not original Olds items.
