Really Good stuff- There is no substitute for hearing the deal straight from the actual guys mouth. I wish there was more historic hot rod footage with owner/ driver commentary like this!!

    Woo Hoo!

For some reason I can't watch any video on here. All that appears is a little box in the top left corner.

  8. Thanks Todd, this car has really had me smitten ever since I first laid eyes on it. I'm so stoked to see it being restored and also to see footage of it and the guys in action back in the day.

Here is another post with more vintage pics

No, my roadster is heavily influenced by the original. Visually they are very close but I've used parts that I had. There was no need to clone it as the original is being restored.

    I agree.

    try here

It's incredible to see footage like this. Just another small peak into that era. Just perfect with the voice over too. Great way to capture the history of a silent movie.

Thanks for thinking of us Jimmy!!

  11. Bump for those who didn't see this

    Thinking about it:D:D

We are very lucky Curt & his sister Teri sat down with their dad to film this.

You should do the same with your dad with any photos & get any stories from the lakes, that would make for great viewing too!
    Cheers

Great footage Jimmy, I see why your post made the "big time" as a featured thread on TJJ! :)
I only just got to watch it as Youtube is blocked at work and even 41 seconds of footage takes forever to buffer on my "period correct" PC. :D

  15. Hey Nic, yeah it's pretty cool! The footage is very deserving!

That sucks that work blocks youtube but at least you got to see it on a Ol' Skool™ PC :)

Not wrong, every time I see the footage it motivates me.

Love browsing the HAMB library, a real treasure trove! Found this little video clip posted by JimmyB (see post#1).

Here's what Ryan said about it in his JJ post a few years back:
In 1996, Curt Giovanine sat down with his dad, sister, and brother-in-law and pointed a modern video camera at the same wall in which an old 8mm video was playing. The result is some incredible footage of the Geovanine/Spurgin roadster matched up with a knowing voice over. It’s hard to watch just once.

  21. Thank you for bumping this, I just re-embedded the clip as it wasn't showing.

    Still inspires me that video.
