In 1955, the 3rd owner transplanted a 265 Chevrolet power pack engine in stock configuration in place of the 21 stud flathead engine. It was mated to a synchronized 39 3 speed transmission with all mounts hand made by the owner, a true craftsman and mechanic extraordinaire. Dual exhaust and tube shocks and a 1940 Ford hydraulic brake system were the other "rad" changes of the day. The rear window is electrically controlled by means of 55 Tbird controls. A Montgomery-Ward heater was installed for cool days. There are some other details from the period, again hand-crafted in a time period when free time was more available and working all weekend on your ride was the thing to do. The 69K miles are correct and the car has always been maintained and garage d. Not a barn find resurrected. It is a pleasure to drive and much more reliable than a stocker.
