SOLD SOLD SOLD: This phaeton is one of two matching, significant 1932 Ford traditional hotrods being offered from a well known collection. See my other ad for the matching 1932 steel 5W coupe. (12/30/14 Update: The Coupe has been sold) This car was built on a 1932 Ford frame and the fiberglass body is one of a very few phaeton bodies built by Wescott in the 1980s or 1990s. The car was built around 2005 by noted hotrod builder Matt Reynolds from Ohio. His goal was to drive the phaeton to Bonneville and back which he successfully accomplished. It is powered by a 350 Chevrolet engine and automatic transmission, a 9" Ford rear end and center-mounted, Franklin-style steering. The engine has been disguised with Oldsmobile Rocket valve covers and a 1930s Ford hubcap as an air cleaner. This car has been a regular fixture at Bonneville during recent years and was used as the shuttle vehicle for the owner and his race team back and forth from Wendover to the Salt Flats. This is a turn-key, fun and reliable driving car that is ready to use and enjoy. The interior is bare bones and basic with seat cushions and back rests in both the front and rear and a tonneau cover over the rear section. It has been featured in hot rod magazines such as Hop Up and is a well known amongst those in the traditional hot rod scene. It has aged gracefully on its own and now has a great look to it. It really looks like it could be from the 1940s. This car is titled as a 1932 Ford with a 1932 Ford VIN. It has a clear and current title and is being offered for sale at 29,500.00 which is far less than the build costs and far less than you could build one for. It is located near Madison, WI. Please call 734-730-4274 or email directly at: [email protected] for more information or additional photos, as I do not often check pms. We are not interested in any trades. Thank you very much.
