Sure hope we get to do this in the years to come as I really miss going out on the salt for my speed fix and seeing all the great hot rods and people.
Great video Jive-Bomber - thanks for sharing. I visited Bonneville last September - hoping there might be some cars running, they woulda needed to float - a few inches of rain turned it back into a lake. Fingers crossed I make it there again to see some real racing.
Too cool! It's a strange thought, but every time I see stuff like this, I think of how many years it sat in the attic, with someone picking it up every ten years or so, and saying "That's just dad's weird old race car footage" or some such. So casually dismissed, yet absolute gold to us. How much of this is still out there in storage rooms or attics?
One day a '58 reel will show up featuring a big White 440 stroked hemi Chrysler 300. Jive Bomber, get back up in the attic and don't come back down until you find it! (Thanks for posting. Great film!)
I can never get enough of the old pics and film. And the reason I take so many pictures now is that someday car guys of the future think the same thing that we are thinking
Great video thanks for posting. Can anyone identify the red modified roadster #80 which appears at the 54 sec. mark through to 1 min mark? Thanks.
Great stuff! Thanks for finding this gem. I was really surprised by the lack of roll bars on more than a few cars. I wonder if we will ever see salt like that again.
