Just got back (with a BAD sunburn!) Gonna crash!
Anyway, here's some quick shots from the show. I know some of you are into French Streamline styling. How about a Delahaye with a custom body by Soutchick?
And just to keep this thread ON topic...how about George Barris riding in a GM concept car, the Pontiac Parisienne.

Kustom guys can take a note from the other famous French coachworkers of the 30's and 40's. This detail is from a Talbot built by Franay.
Again, ON topic, it doesn't get any "hot rod-ier" than a Deusenberg engine!

Just one more before I quit.
Did you know that duPont made cars?
Ever see a factory duPont Speedster? There were 2 of them there!

Also a custom bodied Ford by Darrin (Dutch Darrin, who went on to design the Kaiser-Darrin sports car) I think it was built for Edsel Ford as a hot rod roadster.

There weren't a TON of French coach cars there, but I did get a pic of every one there. I dig'em as well. My buddy Ron wants to build a modern interpretation of one in my shop. Gotta buy more metal working tools though!
Gimme an Email addy, I'll send you the full rez pics.
There were some tasty German streamliners as well, Benz's.

That Darrin was just restored here at my dad's shop where I work.

It got the "ET "Bob" Gregorie" award for Enduring Design. That was given by Ford themself.

The trophy look like a damn trophy that belongs in a museum!

Don't know about the Edsel Ford deal, I'll ask the owner, he has some kool ass pictures of the car. I know it's the first car Darrin built when he came to america, and the only Ford that he built.

The guy drives the car every weekend that it is nice! That's the cool part! And it runs great! I've ridin in it once!

The guy that owns Warner Bros. and the Peterson Musuem both wanted to buy the car, but the owner has willed it to his kids which I think is awesome. Even though I would like for a car I help build to be in a musuem, that would be the cats ass.

Tomorrow I'll post up some of my parents pictures!

Man. I've got to get to Meadowbrook Hall this year. I really, really want to take in a high brow Concours d'Elegance.
