I saw one in a "hot rod" in Modesto area. It's an Aussie motor, from their Valiant Chargers and stuff...
On a typical Hemi, the spark plug in in the middle of the rocker cover, not off to one side like the pic.
Mustang 6 would you be so kind as to share more info and pics on that setup? never seen that before. sport bike carbs? tell us more!
The way I understand it, is that the inline 6 hemi was a 265 block with modified(factory) heads from a slant 6. basically, rounded out the combustion chanber.
hmm, might be cheaper to buy a head rather than have a complete engine shipped from oz, if that is the case.
The 265 Hemi is a killer engine....from memory it was a discarded block design from Chrysler US...and Chrysler Aus picked it up and ran with it ....300hp from a 265 is simple...as in ...built to E49 specs you are there already....they will push 400hp with out much problem....and there is a Aus. company that offers an alloy head for them ....and 450hp+ is on tap as well ....they dominated circuit racing here in the 70's...with hardly any mods at all....here's a site to have a look at... http://home.iprimus.com.au/lsd265/hemi_6.htm ... I have one tucked away for a 6 pack FED
Guys Ive ran a few in my 71 Charger and they are very strong performers. These engines are not a true Hemi, but rather a semi - Hemi combustion chamber design. Chrysler Australia marketed the term Hemi as a revlutionary advance in tech in 1970 - 6 years after the real Hemis debuted in street cars in the USA. They do have a few weaknesses though like oil pumps and hey have a lot of torsional vibration (dont ask me how I know hehe) and they dont like real high rpm but other than that they are tuff as nails. The guys that produce the aluminium heads are called Cylinder Head Innovations - the company is owned by a long time friend. Me? I graduated to stroker MoPar small blocks and Flatheads. Rat
hey guys, i ran a tired one in a 46 dodge ute, and it moved that heap of shit very very quickly. if you are looking for info, try searching for the Mopar Market, its basically like a mopar (and especially hemi 6) hamb. Danny
