This car found me today. A co-worker discovered it over the weekend while junk collecting in the northwest corner of the state. Apparently the car is buyable and I am starting to work out the details.

I don't know it's exact location at the moment , just that is northwest missouri near the Iowa border and only have a 1st name and phone number. The owner is in his 80's.

Based off of the one photo I have, I am curious if anyone has already tried to buy it. Been sitting in the lean-to built around the car for a long time ago. It is the B motor with a rumble seat.

If I can't make a deal, I will pass the info along here.

I saw that on Facebook. Don't find them like that anymore. I know I can't afford it.

Just a mention that the old guy turned down $25,000 for it a while ago.

Made contact with the owner today. Car was last driven in 1952. He is the 3rd owner and paid $25.00 for it. He quit driving it because the fuel pump stopped pumping.

Anyway, he doesn't really want to sell, but his wife wants him to so he can have money to fix the house. I told him what range I would pay if it is as nice as he says. I will call back in a while and he has my #.

Thats the thing with old memories, maybe one of the best days in his life was in that car. Its not about the money to him.

Yeah I know. He sounds like a neat old guy. He knew all previous owners. Him and his friends drove it during high school. I will wait a while and check back.

Wonder who he has been talking to that makes him think that a $25.00 car is now worth more than $25,000. It might be one of those situations where you take your best offer in cash when you go to visit and make sure the wife sees the green during any negotiations.

If buyers did this to me, I'd have nothing left. And my wife would be one HAPPY woman.

Should I stop in M`town this weekend on my way to Torquefest or should I stay home and call all my buddies to the south of me this weekend. With all kidding aside, don`t pass his number out if he`s not ready to sell. I`m sure all his buddys pester him about the car and his wife ain`t makin his life any easier for him either.

Just my .02 on why some of you comment on why the owner doesnt want to let go, At his age all he has are memories and that coupe even though his wife says sell and the kids he feels thats one of the last things they can take. maybe they took his license and other car etc . Its a mind thing with the elders at that age and if it makes them happy so be it. If they are made to sell they just pass earlier and have less hope. Dont kill there memeories and dreams for yours. How many times does your wife friend say oh sell that car and you say no way! I have thought about this alot as i see hear about people wanting these guys to sell out i say fooey. That being said if it can be saved and not left to deteriorate etc then by all means go for it. I myself would make a deal with the gentlemen that he can come by and help me and see the car anytime or keep it til he is ready to let go or passes. Just my scenario and .02 on why these elders feel the way they do! ANd the ones who are crabby and get mad when u ask are probably being pushed to sell and dont want to they want to on there own terms and may be waiting for the right guy to come along.

T&A Hope you strike a deal and get the car. goodluck!!

Dave50 I completely agree with your comments. I learned many things from my grandparents and one of them is that I respect my elders. By no means will I attempt to snake it out from under him.

And no I haven't left yet. I have to work today. It's a weekend trip.

Yep, show the folks that you respect them and make sure "she" knows that you have cash then and there.

Yeah Dave50, I only mentioned it cause I totally agree with you. No harm no foul.

The other thing I failed to mention is that as eager as his wife is to sell it, my wife is absolutely opposite on me buying it. Hopefully I can keep the money in my sock so I can get her a little something something.
