    Hello again from Russia!

For this tech week I'm going to show you some parts of my another project - '39 Daimler-Benz.

Some info about. The main idea of project is reconstruction of the '39 Daimler-Benz's body on tech base of Toyota Crown s130. The new body will be changed proportionally at all points. Roadster will be made in the classic strict style, contributing to the overall silhouette image of a "charge" of the classic hot rod.

This tech week, I want to show you the construction of the door for this car.

Provided by the project dimensions new doors, ones are fundamentally different from a "donor" in geometry. Therefore only exterior window frames require from the original doors. I drew on a sheet of plywood template of new doors and drank it, put flanges, joined them, exposing the corners of the cross slope. Welding. Then I adjusted the a modified frame.

From the interior door has a flat appearance. I gathered the door frame on the template out of plywood. After I fixed the frame and installed a prepared rail for glass welding its points. Then I inserted into a longitudinal tube of the door bottom. It plays the role of rigidity and holds the front and rear flanges. Tube attached to by spot welding.

Inner part window frame I made of U-shaped. Template window I made of fiberboard. Tempered glass are made to order.

Besides I would like to focus on the manufacture of inner longitudinal stiffness. Door lock, window lifter and lower decorative panel will be fixed to it.

Also at the request of the client I made the podiums for fixing hidden three way speaker system. I made rings of diameter of the speakers using shrinker. Ring I made from two bended corners. After I cut the pad with the holes of the required diameter and flanged mounting on the edge of the door to the frame.

Either I did the acoustic cover. It is used to create a hard closed space in the door. It is necessary for the best sound from audio system. On the inner side of the cover has a spot welded rigidity.

    Similarly I constructed other door.

Exterior door skin I'll manufacture after the doors take their place in apertures on car's body.

What did you use for the donor door? Nice write-up, the donor was the only thing I missed.
