Does anyone have any pictures past or present of hot rods with flathead Cadillac Lasalle V8 motors. Or does anyone have any pictures of Cadillac Lasalle flathead speed equipment. I am also looking for any names of manufactures of past speed equipment for these motors. Has anyone bought a set of the repopped Cyclone Cadillac heads? and what do they think. I am getting ready to rebuild a 37 Lasalle motor I just picked up and am looking for some ideas.

Hey Rob! This Is Hard To Find Stuff. Ask Kevin At Cylone If Hes Got A Pair Of Heads Left, And Buy Them If Yes!!
Here A Pic Of The Edmunds Heads And The Burrell Intake. But Do A Search.. You Will Find Several Threads About This. Some Pics..take A Look At The Ugly Edmunds Intake. The Burrell Intake Will Probably Be Back In The Market Next Year, Cause Burrells Son Is About Doing A Round Of Intake. Palle

If you search for Cadillac Flathead on this board you'll pull up a fair amount. There are a handful of guys on this board that have or are messing around with these motors. Savage, Emiliedk, CycloneKevin, dabirdguy, and myself. Speedparts are rare for sure. CycloneKevin reproduced 3 sets of heads a while back. Last I heard they were all spoken for. And there has been talk about someone reincarnating a 2x2 intake, but that remains to be seen. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions on these motors, over the past year I've become fairly knowledgeable. EmiliedK, check your PM's |

I own set P001. I would not call them repopped though. They are Original Cyclones, they just were made 50 years later than the last set to roll out of Cooks Machine Works. They are from the same molds, and machined on a bridgeport just like in 1948. Kevin Precaido took it on himself to resurrect some of Cooks old pieces in the Cyclone line of speed product offerings. I can say that having looked mine over many a time, they are emmaculate to say the least. I will be posting pics fairly soon as mine are getting polished over the holidays. They should come out looking exactly like Sinus's, even though his are 50+ years older. Quote:
I looked for a long, long time for a 2x2 intake. And finally found one. I got a one of the later Edmunds that is all smooth and rounded vs. the early models that were real blocky. Bendtsens makes tranny adapters to run a later model GM tranny, but if you have a '37 then you may just stick with the top loader stick. http://www.transmissionadapters.com/cad_early.htm Then AllCads has about every other part except speed parts http://www.allcads.com/parts.html EGGE also carries most of these engine's internals |

I have a race motor that ran at bonneville 1950. I am still waiting to get a photo of the car it came out of.. it even ran a front drive blower, Cyclone heads.. There is alot of beautiful work done on that engine.... I will try to get some photos of it soon for you.
I also have a stock running one that I will put my NOS Cyclone heads on.. I want to run a 2x2 intake on it also.. I just can't decide if I put it in my running car or build another Roadster for it.. I also have a bendstedts adapter for running my GM 4 speed Aaron |

Wow , how did I miss this thread ! Seems there's a few of us into the Caddy's then . Figured the only way to go with a multi carb inlet was one-off tubular , and may still take that route if they're as rare as you guys say .
Slightly off the original thread , but my engine is matched up to a '39 (I think) LaSalle 3 speed column shift box . Anyone have any ideas on converting this to floor shift ? Please bare in mind I am almost totally ignorant about these early boxes , and I'm from England so please talk slowly and clearly ... Stock , but still a thing of beauty
