Hi Guys I joined the form 11 04 05 of this month and introduced myself on the other thread. joeycarpunk and coupe5w36 ask for me to post some pics of my 34 coupe. The coupe has four bars front and rear with buggy springs front and rear. 3 3/8" x 4" C8ba (Canadian block has the C first) with a Speedway trans. adapter to C4 auto. trans. and 8" ford rear. The wheels are early Caddy's. Heads are Edmunds and 390 holley carb with a stock 34 ford air filter made to fit it. I also made it so I can put a replacement paper filter in it.The generator case I made out of a solid piece of alum. and put a johndeer alternator in side the front generator plate is the early style that has two bearings in it to carry the load of the fan. The distributer is chevy point style.I hope to get it all one shade of blue shaded primer for next summer but I don't really want to take it apart again. Darrell
How about a post with pictures of how you did the Alternator/generator build? YOu did take pictures didn't you? Frank
Nice work, welcome to the H.A.M.B., you should fit in just fine. How about a tech on that alternator.
speedaddict that color of the car that is what I want to do to my 34 cpe. And it is going blue because I have the old 1964 vintage interior that I took out 25 years ago to start this project and I want to put it back in. It is blue and white tuck and roll.I had alot of pictures of the generator to alt. but I lost them when I had computer trouble I do have some I can scan but not as many.Darrell
Man, today sure is funny. First, I see 'ASSHAT' used in a post reply. Now, I see HOLY POOP. God, I love the HAMB.
The generator case I made out of a solid piece of alum. and put a johndeer alternator in side the front generator plate is the early style that has two bearings in it to carry the load of the fan. NICE ride! Gives me some inspiration for mine. Do a tech article on the gen. What JD alternator? Never mind, just scrolled down. Thanks!
Frank, I posted a thread how I did my conversion. Sounds almost identical. Search in the TECH posts for " Alternator in Generator disguise" BTW, awesome coupe. Welcome.
Swissmike it is really close to the way you did yours but I didn't have to modify the front plate just put in new bearings. Darrell
The primer is from UPOL. It comes with tint. Put 4 tubes of blue tint in the can and you'll be good. Again, I love the full fenders on that car.
It has been two years of driving around and having fun in the primer 34 ford tomorrow and monday my cousin Tom will be putting the light blue paint on. We have worked on it every day for 3 weeks getting it ready. Painted the glove box door tonight to see the color better it is harder than I thought to pick a color.I will post pics after the night of painting here is todays pics Darrell
Talk about holding on to a thread! You must have searched DEEP to find this,LOL! Post some more pic's after the paint. Like this year though,HA HA HA!
Here are tonights pics the doors and trunk are ready post pics tomorrow or after I hang them. It looks real good.I am a very happy person right now. Thank for looking Darrell
Just put the doors and trunk on tonight so there not in my way I need more space fenders will be ready tomorrow. It sure does take a lot of room for all the parts when you can't stack them like cord wood any more.Car looks great I'm very happy and tried of body and paint work.enjoy Darrell
Hmmmm.... green fenders, beige body, blue and white interior, red wheels- don't be starting any fads, now. Great ride you've got going there. '33-'34's rule. Deuce's and A's might be trad, but nothing says Hot Rod or Nasty more than than a souped full-fendered Model 40.
man I like the blue, but im partial the firewall is punk rock man, might be toooo much white is always good looking
Here are the fronts man I don't know where to start. I will do the roof and work my way down Darrrell
