I've got two 15x7 4-lug wheels that I want to widen to 15x10. Who has everyone used and roughly how much was it?
I'd recommend Stockton Wheel. I looked into it awhile ago, but was broke at the time. I don't remember the cost off the top of my head, but I want to say $50-100 a wheel maybe, depending on how wide?
I've heard a lot a bad stories lately about Stockton Wheel. Try Wheel Works in NJ 609-499-2233. Never had any work done by them but the comments I've heard are good
Tim Smith Wheel Works Burlington NJ 609 499 2233 About 100 bucks plus postage when I talked to him a few years back. He offered references, short turnaround. Has done old wires, would take a lot of balls to split a wire and know I could get it to come out straight IMO
Check around in your area with rounde round guys maybe you can find a local with experience on a lathe. We have a guy here in Rochester that widens steel as well as alum wheels, changes centers etc.will try for a name and # if you need it.
Tim did the 2 on the left several years ago. I gave them to him at a weekend flea market....UPS delivered them to me the very next Friday. His attention getter at the flea markets is an 18" wide 35 wire. It looks like a trash can on it's side.
You gotta be shitting me, haven't you guys seen this? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182382&highlight=Stockton Call WheelKid or Bear Metal Kustoms, both H.A.M.B. Alliance guys.
If your on a budget, the cheapest way is find any wheel that is the width you want (be sure to measure the center diam) cut the centers out and weld yours in. Just make sure you true them as your welding. Back in the early days we used farm wagon wheels for the rims.
Ackerson Wheels 3157 East Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY (585) 334-4588 I had wheels widened by them in 2002 for $35.00 each. They do a lot of them for the stock car racers.
