Hello A little about myself Dad bought me a 1955 Ford Customline in 1973 whilst I was still at school, I have been infected ever since... I have been an avid supporter of the Yblock all this time and so till my last breath. I have been collecting the odd bit of yblock speed equipment over the years and have a pile of yblocks in the back shed. My gararge still has that original 1955 Customline parked in it (undergoing a freshen up) also it houses a 1957 Ford (Australian) Customline Station Wagon (USA 1956 with Fairlane trim) and in the back shed there are a couple of Mainline utes waiting for life to be restored. I started in aluminum casting about 6 years ago with various forms of Yblock finned valve covers, then I made a half a dozen 6carb intakes for the yblock before moving on to a single plane 4BBL yblock intake... this was around the time John Mummert released the dual plane 4BBL and Blue Thunder... in the last 12 months I have been developing a Yblock blower intake and the rest is history... I have been a regular contributor to the Yblock Magazine for more than 3 years with 'Tales from down under" but less frequently lately due to work pressures. I am new at threads and forums, be gentle It seems I have made quite a splash with the release of the Yblock Blower intake. It has taken me more than a year to go from the original CAIN 4BBL wooden pattern to what you see today. Don't be shy... I am happy to answer questions on Yblock and the development process... There has been quite a bitmore e-mail traffic than I'm used to lately, but in time I will endevour to respond to all questions or enquiries

Yes, the Ybloke blower manifold has been designed for the 471GM Also, the manifold has been drilled and tapped for a 371GM (would require a flat adapter plate to fit the 371GM to he intake, it has a smaller inlet)
Welcome from Detroit, mate. I run a 292/C-O-M that I overhauled, in our '59 Galaxie. I don't mean to bust on Ford's first attempt at building an overhead valve engine but it has design flaws, oiling issues and rear seal problems that everyone tolerates because it sounds good. My '55 Customline will be retrofit. Out with the 272/F-O-M and in with a 351W EFI roller/AOD. At 400hp, naturally aspirated, a quick bolt-on Paxton or Vortec can add 40% more straight off the shelf, and cheap (compared with custom-manufactured Y-block parts IF you can get them). With all respect, there's really no replacement for displacement. Ford Racing boasts over 700hp for the 351-based 427. I'm happy with 400 serious hp. - Dave
