Default 1938 Chevy Coupe

Location: Daytona Beach, FL   Price: $8900
1938 Coupe project with all new chassis parts plus over 100 hours labor in body work all done and thousands of dollars in new parts included.
Started with original chassis frame rails which were totall rust free. Added new Chassis Engineering rear springs, spring hangars, shackles, etc. Added Chassis Engineering transmission crossmember. Front suspension changed to Mustang II type independent front end by Chassis Engineering fully adjustable for ride height and with all new disk brake setup complete. All new front and rear springs, shocks, rack & pinion steering, anti-sway bars, bolts, brackets, etc. etc. etc. See photos of parts included from Chassis Engineering which cost well over $3500. Body has new firewall and front floor pan ( another $600 was spent here). This car was a drag car (see original photo of how car was as a drag race car before converting it to street rod) and firewall and floor was not rusty, just cut up from years of engine, transmission etc. changes and is now put back with all new sheetmetal to new condition. Existing trunk and rear floor pans also rust free. Have never seen floor pans this good in this old of a car. Bottom of car is in prestine condition with perfectly smooth sheetmetal as new from front to back.

Everything in photos is included and more. Took the time to weld up all stress cracks in fenders, straightened all dents and dings and applied body filler as needed. Primed body, fenders, hood, etc. with 2 heavy coats of 2K epoxy primer and blocked surface out with 100 dry sandpaper to further straighten body. After that I again primed with 2 heavy coats of primer to fill all sand scratches, etc to where it is now as you can see in the photos with parts in gray color. All parts now ready for final wet sanding process to prepare for paint. Total of over 100 hours and $400 of primer, sand paper and body material spent to bring it to condition it is in now. I DO NOT have trunk lid or running boards for this car. These parts can be bought new from Superior Glass Works for fiberglass replacements for around $800 total or you can find good used parts at a swap meet. Bottom of fenders, inside doors and lots of interior body panels have been treated with Ospho rust conditioner and most have also been undercoated for years of rust free service in the future.

Included is your chassis in as new condition. All body parts except for trunk lid and running boards. Also included are front grille, gas tank, bucket seats, Chevy tilt wheel steering column, all interior garnish mouldings, nostalgia front wheels, door window cranks mechanism, new small block chevy engine mounts, headlight buckets, Chevy Nova rear end assembly with drum brakes, original radiator, and more...... No engine or transmission included with this car.

Over $4500 spent on new parts plus over 100 hours labor at $20 per hour is what your are getting with this car plus the original car itself as you see it in the photo as a drag race gasser car in red oxide primer color. Totalling over $6500 invested in improving this car to this point. Ready to finish the way you prefer to finish it. If you would prefer the gasser look versus the street rod look as it is sitting now I can remove the new front end chassis parts with independent front suspension and replace them with all the original dropped solid front axle suspension.

I can email more photos starting with how this car started from the gasser drag race look to where it is today in primer, street rod quality.
