Hello, just want to share my mostly driving project car. Bought it about 1 1/2 years ago in Belgium where it was standing for about 10 years. Had to do some work to get her on the road here in the Netherlands, all the electric was not that good. So had to do that again, after a few weeks I got everything road ready! Found some holes to close Got that all done and painted again! The thing what bothered me the most was how high the car was so..... cut it! love the line of the car!! In the summer I thought it was time to do some crazy stuff to her so painted some flames!! I didn't want some thing what would scream so just metalflake..... Later will do a outline.... Bought some nice stuff for the great summers over here (not) In the moment I'm working on my engine because my crankshaft broke Will get the 216 ready again.... so the first work now is cleaning the firewall and do some gold flake on it!! Stay tuned!
Thanks everybody. @ Orn, that's so true!!! And btw your working on a nice project to!!! @ Farmer12, it looks finished but it isn't ;-) I'm trying to drive every summer. I'm not the type of guy that works on a project for years...without driving.......
Well, couple of days of!! Spray painting! first couple of layers gold to get a "base" color! Then FLAKES! wanted to do something with candy but... no idea yet.... will thing about it! Was thinking about a rising sun kind of thing.... let me know what you think!
That looks super bitchin just like it is to me! Maybe highlighting the body lines, or doing a panel paint style tape off inside the body lines? Either way good looking gold? Did you use a spray gun to do all that?
Thanks guys! @ N847 I think I will still do my rising sun, will try it next week! I just 2 spray guns, one for normal spray painting, like the gold color. Opening of the nozzle 1.5mm. Then I just one with 2.5 opening and the paint underneath i hope you understand it! I put 2 round glass marbles to keep the flakes "floating". Then just 4 / 5 layers and after the flakes clear coat. Will sand down and polish..... @ Roger and Farmer, thanks!!!!
love the fire wall! get some striping done and let it ride! that is gonna blow some minds when you lift the hood!
@ Toucan, try to do everything myself... striping is not the thing I do best but think I will do some striping! @ 408Fairmont + DoubleJ52 + Flamingokid Thanks for your reply's!! I will keep the updates coming!!!
Well, no paint at the moment! The rising sun didn't work out, didn't do it like I had in my mind! So I'm thinking over it again, maybe panels,... or something with Sun records... well, I will keep you guys up to date! Perry Kustom is helping out to make a photoshop pic! check his weblog http://perrykustompaint.blogspot.nl/ Now slowly working on the next step!
@JiiTee Thanks!! Your ride looks great to!! Lot of space ! @ 60 Beair Was watching the photo from your stylemaster, did look good!!! I belief you miss her!
Thanks! Working on it so I can drive to Holland next summer. We're coming to Old Style Weekend (Foxwolde, Roden) again. You might know that weekender?
