Default Hello Mr. Winfield

His equals call him, "Gene." His old friends call him, "Windy." I call him, "Mr. Winfield." Considering all he has done for the hot rod and custom world and recognizing just how far up I have to look to see that genuine smile of his, I don't know if ...

Gene is the coolest. It was an honour to meet him at the Detroit Autorama a few years back.

The course I took with Mr. Winfield was great, and for the last hour or so of the last day we all just sat around throwing questions at him. The man is an encyclopedia. This is an amazing opportunity.

He is a cool guy w/ Definately lots of knowledge! Not say, a good dancer! hehe! he was dancing his legs off at the KKOA leadsled spectacular w/ a cute blonde and i got lots of pics! Gene stayed at my house when he used to come out east for a car show in "Woosta" MA. The stories that he has are priceless. His energy is off the charts and he is an inspiration. A true living legend.

Wow! What a great move for the community. Can we call Mr. Winfield "boss" now instead of Ryan?

Really cool Ryan!! Nice to see you have heard the concerns of the customs guys on the site and have gone above and beyond to do something about it. This is what really makes this site the best the fact that you really do care about the members and take the time to listen to them.

Thanks!!!

I have a question for Gene.

Why is it that every time I see him (over 100 times I'm sure) he looks at me with that blank stare that says "who is this guy?" but when he sees my wife he runs right up and gives her the total body smash hug and acts like he's just reunited with his high school sweetheart?

Quite the ladies man.

She's married Gene.

I'm looking forward to meeting him soon in Cincinnati. He is chopping my 49 Ford at the Cavalcade Show in January. I've never heard a bad word about the man and who can't look up to a guy like Gene. It will be an honor to watch him slice the roof off that old shoebox.
