I think the big dollar "car show" is done,
for the HAMB crowd anyways.
There seems to be a movement of "events" that promote
using Hot Rods for what they are intended.
Race of Gentlemen, HAMB drags, Swindlers Poker Runs.
Coastline Cruises, LSR, and The Revolution all
seem to have an underground vibe about them.
A little more down to earth, a little more real.

This has been a bone of contention with me for a long time. Rod runs are no longer rod runs. They are "I'll show you my car and you show me yours". For hot roddings sake, let's get some activities back into rod runs.

 

For the first time in a long time I have a case of East Coast envy... Could you imagine what would happen if you managed to pull that off somewhere in So Cal? The smell of the hippies protesting alone would kill most bystanders as they whined, moaned and formed drum circles. Good on you guys Oilers! Fight the counter culture?!
