First off, a belated, but HUGE THANKS to the Continentals, again for throwing one of my favorite events of the year, DOTD. . .
As much as I love this event, however, and I admire all the work that goes into it, from every angle (the event itself, the "true blues" who thrash so hard to make every possible pass, the supporters who come out in greater and greater numbers every year!), DOTD now leaves me a bit maudlin, and tonight I remember why. . . Casey. Period. I don't think words can begin to describe how much I associate DOTD with him. From the smell of burning rubber, to engines screaming down the track, and greasy offerings from the "snack bar," Little River will forever be connected, at least in my senses, to the sound of his laughter and sight of his sly smile, as he cracked a beer and gave me a healthy ration of crap. You're missed, tonight, "Sir" Crazy Casey. You always are, this time of year. And many thanks to those who are keeping his memory alive. . .but the real question is, who won the Flathead Award this year? (Or do I even need to ask?)

If I remember correctly his ashes were spread at Little River, a fitting tribute indeed. I've never seen anyone make as many passes as that guy, he is missed indeed.

Dear Mz Print.....
I kinda recognize that Collin Casey trophy and the plane in your attached picture .Just to let you know....16 of "HIS" valves went 123 mph in the little Flathead Dragster so we could be put back on his memorial trophy .Everytime I go by the Bar at the end of the track, I smile at the thought of him "waiting" for the AAA truck to come pick him up, so he didn't drive back to Dripping Springs "under the influence "....hahahaAnd then there's the "AAA Bus Story"....shoot fire, Collin is the reason that I joined AAA.....haha "Sorry little shit".....I miss him, also
