Finally got the nod from my buddies that we could put a trip together for 2013 Speed Week and what a struggle to get rooms in Wendover. I've been in the past but my friends haven't. Looks like we won't be going as we're to dam old to sleep on the ground for a week. Can't believe there's nothing available at this early date. I'll keep looking but it doesn't look good.

Keep an eye on landracing.com and either post up "room wanted" or watch for someone posting a cancellation. Your probably a bit early for that. Keep it in mind tho.

From what I know the hotels don't start releasing bookings for SpeedWeek until around Feb. I usually camp with an old RV but this year the the RV took a dump on the way. Got it home and headed out with the truck. I "bought" and unwanted room off of landracing. Coming up to SpeedWeek if you keep an eye on landracing you'll see rooms for sale. Some friends from Denmark arrived at SpeedWeek on the Sunday and had no problem finding a room. The hotels shaft you for the week so be prepared. After the opening weekend there is no problem finding a room. I don't think finding a room is quite as daunting as its made out to be.

If you don't have to be there for the weekend, you should be able to get rooms. We had reserved, but for kicks, called mid-week to some local motels while still there, and rooms were available at regular rates. We had pre-booked rooms with a 2 month cancellation policy.

In the last few weeks before speedweek there are always HAMBsters canceling because life gets in. the way. It will make you nervous not knowing about a room till the last minute but you should be able to get a room.

Rent a large RV and go in style. Use it as your portable room.
